A faster-than-expected construction schedule is enabling a $28 million hotel/apartment complex in Williamsville to open ahead of schedule.
William Paladino, Ellicott Development Co. president and CEO, confirmed that the 120-room Wyndham Garden Hotel & Suites will likely open by early August, some 45 days ahead of original projections. Paladino credited several factors including mild weather and an aggressive effort by the project’s general contractor, Concept Construction Corp. of Elma.
“It is moving very fast,” Paladino said.
The six-story, 220,000-square-foot complex is anchored by the first Wyndham Garden hotel in Erie County and 33 market-rate apartments, which have been named the Residences at the Mosey, after Joseph Mosey, a partner in the project. The apartments will be ready for occupancy by early September, Paladino said.
A marketing effort for the apartments is slated to begin next week.
The project is located at the corner of Main Street and S. Forest Road on a parcel that once housed the Stereo Advantage and, before that D&E Motors. It was one of two major hotel projects Ellicott Development has underway in Amherst. The company is also building a Staybridge Inn hotel as part of a Sweet Home Road mixed-use complex with Beveliqua Development Co. The Staybridge is due to open later this year.
