The Beals, McCarthy, and Rogers building located at 635 South Park Avenue has a new owner. Webster Block LLC, an affiliate of Ellicott Development Company, purchased the attractive three-story industrial property yesterday from Framing Hope Foundation Inc. for $225,000. The property had been listed by Hastings + Cohn Real Estate with a $395,000 asking price.
The 67,600 sq.ft. building at the corner of South Park and Katherine Street is home to The Service Collaborative of WNY’s Framing Hope Warehouse that offers low-cost, high-quality materials to non-profit organizations by leveraging donations from local and national retailers. Steel producers Beals, McCarthy, and Rogers, and more recently, Gibraltar Steel, had operations at the site. The building was involved in some controversy in 2009 when Buffalo ReUse underwent some turmoil and was potentially moving into the building.
Ellicott Development plans to use the building for its own warehousing and storage needs. The firm owns a number of properties along South Park Avenue and in the First Ward.
