December Events to Watch Out For
Ice at Canalside
Ice at Canalside presents skating opportunities at Buffalo’s Waterfront. This must-do winter activity in Buffalo is suitable for families and friends, as it is reasonably priced. You can buy tickets online in advance or at the venue itself.
The rink is open from Monday to Thursday from 11 am-9 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11 am-10 pm, and Sunday from 11 am-7 pm.
Besides skating, a DJ will play music at the rink from 6 pm-9 pm on Fridays and 3 pm-6 pm on Sundays. However, this event takes a break on December 25th and January 1st.
Zoo Lights at the Buffalo Zoo
The Buffalo Zoo will be transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland for its annual Zoo Lights event. Wander through this illuminated and welcoming Zoo after hours. This year, the event runs on select nights from November 27th, 2022, to January 1st, 2023.
Visitors can expect to see over 500,000 lights, live entertainment, and festive food. The event opens from 5:30 pm-9 pm, but doors close at exactly 8:30 pm.
If you love taking amazing, Instagram-worthy photos, get ready, as there will be several photo-taking sessions. While there, enjoy the Happy Holiday Express Train Ride or the Holiday Carousel.
Procrastinators Holiday Market
The Procrastinators Holiday Market is perfect for last-minute Christmas shopping. This year, the market will be held at the Buffalo Riverworks 359 Ganson St. on December 17th. It will feature over 100 local vendors with plenty of unique gifts. There will also be food and drinks available for purchase. The market opens from 10 am-4 pm.
