The region’s first Country Inn & Suites has officially opened its doors in West Seneca.
Ellicott Development Co. opened the 108-room Slade Avenue hotel as companion to a Staybridge Inn and Hampton Inn it also operates on the same parcel, just off the I-90, near the Lackawanna/West Seneca exits.
“It gives people another option,” said Bill Paladino, Ellicott president and CEO.
Paladino said the Country Inn, part of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, is designed as a “more affordable” option.
“It works in well with what we already have there,” Paladino said.
Carlson has 11 other Country Inns across New York state. The West Seneca site is part of an aggressive growth campaign Carlson has in its pipeline for the Country Inn chain.
“The brand has established a strong footprint in New York,” said Scott Meyer, vice president, Midscale Brands, Americas. “The continued growth is another step forward in our plan to expand the brand primarily in the U.S., Canada, India and Mexico.”
Designed for the per-diem business traveler and budget family/recreational tourists, the Country Inn offers a number of amenities including a free breakfast and high-speed Internet.
The 108-room hotel includes a business center, an indoor heated pool, whirlpool, fitness center and meeting space up to ten people.
The hotel is the fifth Ellicott Development has in the immediate Buffalo Niagara region. The company is also developing a Wyndham Hotel in Williamsville and a Staybridge in Amherst and has a proposed a hotel as the main anchor for its proposed, mixed-use Webster Block proposal it submitted to the city of Buffalo.
