Ellicott Development Co. is set for work on a project this July to be developed on the northern border of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
Tom Fox, Ellicott’s director of development, said the Buffalo company hopes to start construction within the next 45 days on the six-story building that helps anchor Our Lady of the Lourdes Church campus along Main Street.
The 194,000-square-foot building is one of the centerpieces of a $35 million development based around the century-old church. The building is expected to house retail and office tenants and will be connected to the church by a glass-enclosed atrium.
Fox said development plans for the church are still being worked on.
Basement parking beneath the six-story will be part of the development.
The project is one of several Ellicott has in its local pipeline including the conversion of the former Buffalo Christian Center on Pearl Street into a mixed-use development that includes a hotel, apartments and some office space.
