Construction is winding down at 905 Elmwood Avenue. The four-story infill project by Ellicott Development features commercial space and 21 apartments. While new tenants anxiously await move-in day, neighbors on St. James Place anxiously await news on a property Ellicott Development purchased two weeks ago.
Local Boys Restaurant Group is anchoring the project with JT’s, featuring a restaurant on the first floor and second floor covered patio.
Apartments will range in size from 900 to 1,900 sq.ft.
Kideney Architects designed the project and Concept Construction is the general contractor.
Ellicott Development paid $940,000 for the former Elmwood-Delavan Food Mart and gas station where the building is located, and $130,000 each for properties at 617 and 621 W. Delavan and $290,000 for 619 W. Delavan where parking will located. In May, the developer purchased 901 Elmwood Avenue south of the building for $347,000.
On October 13, Ellicott purchased 189 St. James Place located south of the project’s parking lot for $425,000. One St. James neighbor commented on Facebook she was told the house would be demolished to provide another driveway to the parking lot. That has not been confirmed but the location and purchase price raises suspicion.
