3 Reasons to Visit Niagara Falls in the Winter

Jan 05 2018

To many people, the thought of visiting city where the main attraction is a waterfall during the winter season might not be the best idea. If you’re skeptical about traveling to Niagara Falls, NY in the colder months, take a look at 3 of the best reasons why you should layer up and take the plunge.

View the Incredible Frozen Niagara Falls

The Falls are truly captivating any time of year, but add in a little ice and snow and they become a winter wonderland. Niagara Falls during the wintertime is truly breathtaking, and while you can Google it for proof, pictures just don’t do it justice.

Don’t Let Cold Temperatures Scare You Away

While some of the traditional attractions (Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, etc.) might be ruled out as options in what feels like sub-zero temperatures, Niagara Falls, NY still offers plenty of activities which only require you to be outside while walking from your car to the entrance. If you’re feeling lucky, try your hand at slots or a table game at the Seneca Niagara Casino. Pretend you’re somewhere tropical while looking at the fish in the Aquarium of Niagara.

Weather Outside Is Frightful, but the Giacomo Is So Delightful

After a day full of fun activities return to your luxurious suite at the Giacomo. While you were out, your suite was staying warm and toasty, patiently awaiting your arrival. For the extra cold days, thaw out in the Rapid Grand Deluxe Suite which comes fully equipped with a Jacuzzi and fireplace. If you’re ready to return to the comfort and warmth of the Giacomo but not ready to call it a night, stop by the Giacomo Lounge, open daily at 5pm.
